Ok so this review is long overdue but I think it is a necessity especially with the World of Warcraft leveling guide landscape that has evolved over the last few years. I am about to tell you everything you need to know before buying/trying Joana's leveling guide.
So when I first bought this guide it was way back in the day when there was no levels past 60. I used the guide to level a few of my toons to the mid 40s before getting bored and leveling a different class. Back in the day Joana's Horde Power Leveling Guide was like "the only" guide that was worth spending your time with. It helped me to actually level one of my characters t 60 in about 5 days played time which back in the day was amazing.
When the Burning Crusade came out updated was Joana's horde power leveling guide for free. Which is a good thing seeing as when you paid for the guide he had promised updates for life. I used the guide to level a Blood Elf mage from 1 to 70 in about 9 days played. Which again was pretty fast seeing as most levels from 60 to 70 took about 7-8 hours which the guide cut them down to about 4-5 hours per.
As time passed Joana's Horde power leveling guide was kept up to date, he even created an in game coordinates mod to help out and make his guide less ALT+TAB spammy. I must say I have been using Joana's Horde power leveling guide for about 2-3 years now and have always enjoyed it. Now enter Wrath of the Lich King Blizzard's newest expansion and suddenly this guide is not what it used to be.
I will admit his Wrath of the Lich king Horde leveling guide was actually really well done and helped me to level a lot faster in Northrend then I had expected. Grinding levels trying to get a warrior to main tank status can be aggravating. Using the wrong guide to level up an Undead Warrior can lead to disaster.
What really sucks is when another tank in your guild who was raiding was getting all the freaking Epic drops and can be a guildmate who you started leveling before they even created the character.
I felt like this guy was just playing all the time and did not have a life. I was very frustrated with playing and being left out of the raids and watching this dude rack up on all the cool gear.
I started to use several guides some that were general leveling guides and some outdated leveling guides and some that were specific to Alliance only. This would lead to getting ganked on a PVP server for someone playing a Horde character.

The major key you need to look at is if you have to be a certain class to use the guide. You would be surprised how many guides were designed around hunters and will have rough patches for some classes to complete. If you wanted to level a hunter, then a guide like this might be good. But if I am going to spend my money on a horde power leveling guide like Joanas, I want to be able to play any class.
Then there is the whole issue of grinding. There are plenty of reasons that grinding is a good thing at times, but horde leveling should not be one of them. You will be spending plenty of time grinding when you reach level 80. From reputation grinding, gold farming, to just farming for that rare pet you are going to be grinding a lot already.
When I look at a horde power leveling guide and see that they are telling you to grind at all, I will put the guide down and look for another. There is no good reason why you should have to grind while leveling from 1-80. Then there is the whole issue of grinding. There are plenty of reasons that grinding is a good thing at times, but horde leveling should not be one of them. You will be spending plenty of time grinding when you reach level 80. From reputation grinding, gold farming, to just farming for that rare pet you are going to be grinding a lot already.
When I look at a horde power leveling guide and see that they are telling you to grind at all, I will put the guide down and look for another. There is no good reason why you should have to grind while leveling from 1-80. They have lowered the XP needed per level from 1-70 to the point that you simply will level faster than the questing will allow already. Questing for XP is the fastest method, period. When you consider that you get 10k or more XP per quest starting in Outlands, it doesn't make a lot of sense to grind.
Leveling Guides should help you level at the fastest pace possible. Leveling from 1-80 in 7 days or less should be the norm. There is no reason you cannot level this fast either.
